WAIHOU v. TE AROH A.

This match was played at Waihuu and proved to be a one-sided game, Waihou easily winning by 17 points to nib Owing to the absence of their junior team at Matainata the Te AroHa Club placed a very weak fifteen in the field cousequently the game resolved itself into a good practice game for the Waihou team, 'fries were scored for Waihou by Alf. Lennard (3), Given and Forbes, one of which the former converted. Lipsey, the burly lock of the Te Aroha team caused a sensation in this match by kickiug a goal from the kick off from half way amidst great applause from players and spectators. Mr Mays, of Hamilton refereed with his usual ability.

MORRINSVILLE v. MATAM A.TA. This match was played at Morrinsville aud after a great and exciting game the home team brought off the biggest surprise of the season beating the hitherto uubeaten Matamata team by 9 points to 6. Morrinsvilie had somewhat the best’ of the game and came near scoring on several occasions. Matamata scored two tries, while fpr Morrinsvilie • Hogg scored a try and Heels kicked two penalty goals. He also went near converting the try, the referees . decision being a poster. _ Mr Lowry refereed with his usual ability. Matamata and Waihou are now on the same mark, and the next meeting of these two teams should prove interesting.

This match was won by Waihou by default, Morrinsvilie failing to put a team in the field.

TE AROHA II v. MATAMATA 11.

This match was played at Matamata and resulted in a win for <the home team by three points to nil after a hard fought and interesting game. Mr Binsted of Te Aroha refereed. 1 Skelly scored a try Matamata. These two teams play off for the Junior Cup at Morrinsvilie next Saturday, a close and interesting game is looked forward to. 1 ■'
