What’s Coming

(By the Wanderer.)

There is something very weird, something extraordinary in the atmosphere—but wait! Is it true tbc thing.we live in and breathe continually can have such an effect ? You will say what is it, and what can we be talking or writing about? Just wait. Is it a fantastic shape or is it one of those epochs when our very being is permeated with an overwhelming sense of some awful presence, some supernatural agency at work, some diabolical spirit coming amongst us to work out some evil destiny on ono .dr mure of us. That feeling is saturating the atmosphere of To ArohaVwitb its eerie, ill-favoured, overpowering, demonistic, and certain mastery in this lovely little resort of ours. What is the cause —the rain or cold, the opinions and decisions of our peeple, or is it that there is a craze coming over us whereby our branis are becoming softened with continued wear and tear. Take note of the young men in our streets exposing their craniums (and young women too are taken that way) to the cold, rain, and what not. Are they sane or is it a fad caused by a softening of a particular part of the brain pad? It seems a pity that our 'young men and 'r<. women should thus forswear their headgear ; is it to save the draper’s bill, or; is the brain that hot that it requires cooling ? Or do they think that by so exposing their brain to the atmosphere of heaven they will prevent baldness!' Don’t fancy that, for if you are to be bald it will surely come pass. Mon, wear you hats, * and women still continue to captivate the more man by the arrangement and style of your lovely hats.
