MORRINSVILE
Own Correspondent,
PniL Walsh and his popular Company paidc, visit here on Monday evening, and . * staged the “ American Tramp.” There was a fair attendance, and all voted it the best entertainment shown here, and on their return visit, on~. Tueenay next, they will no doubt be greeted with »f-v bumper house, when “ All for Gold” will then be staged. There was a sitting of the Police Court here on Tuesday, Messrs H. L. aqd J. M. Clifford, J,P., presiding. Robert Adamson was charged with being illegally on the premises of the local creamery, and was fined 10s and costs, or 48 hours hard labour. John O’Brien similarly charged, and also with, stealing 13s from the dwelling of Geo. Kelly was sent to Mt. Eden for one month. ; A member of the British football team who is paying a visit here to some of his friends, and is an adept with the axe, challenged our local champion for a snbstantial wager. “ Esau,” however, proved too good for the visitor and won ' •• easily, so he will probably return with the impression that the colonials can do' other things as well as play football. The return football match with Matamata will be played here on Saturday, when no doubt a good game wi}l result.
