Palmerston North, Thursday. Che ballot recently held by circular in connection with the choicrof an’ ? Opposition candidate for the Oroufk ; seat resulted in Mr Guthrie being nominated. Mr Atkinson, the other Opposition candidate for the seat, congratulated Mr Guthrie, and promised him all possible assistance. The polling was very heavy, and considerable linterest was taken in the result.
