Piako Rugby Union.

MEETING OF DELEGATES.

A delegate meeting of the Piako Rugby Union was held on Saturday evening last in the Palace Hotel, Mr O. F. Pilling, president, in the chair. The following delegates were present :—Messrs Price, Moore-Jones, and Moore (Matamata); W. Lennard D. Borrie and Comerford (Waihou); G- Lewis, C. Cribb, and L. Buchan (Te Aroha), and the secretary, E. D. Rice.

Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed, —Correspondence—

Letter received from Goldfields Rugby Union, stating that a match with Waikato could not be played on the 4th'July, and that the Union fixture, Karangahake v. Piako, take place on that date at Te Aroha. From Karangahake Union, stating that they were running a special train to the match with Piako on 4th July, the train to arrive at Te Aroha at 2.45 p.m., and asking if the team would have time to change in the town before proceeding to the ground.—Left with secretary to arrange. From Waihi Union stating that the Goldfields Union had made no move in the matter of Junior rep. matches.—lt was resolved that the Goldfields Union be written to urging the arrangement of Junior Rep. matches. Messrs G. Shaw and Quinlan were registered for Te Aroha and Matamata respectively. A vote of thanks was passed to the Editor Te Aroha News for his gift of badges to the representative team.

Accounts to amount of £4 17s were phssed for payment. Junior Rep. Selector.—Mr L. Buchan was appointed as sole selector of Junior Rep. team. It was decided that three rounds of Cup Matches be played; the same as in the previous years. An application from the Matamata Club to re-instate C. Quinlan as a junior was refused, as Quinlan had played in a Senior Rep. Match this season.

A vote of thanks to the chair con eluded the meeting.
