The Waiorongomai hotel license will be dealt with. There was a good attendance at the Presbyterian Church concert last evening. The excellent programme provided was gone through without a hitch. The Te Aroha Rifle Club have now received their annual supply of ammunition. Doubtless the members will lose little time in making good use of the new rifle range. We noticed during the past few days at least one prohibited person staggering about the streets in a helpless state of intoxication. This is not as it should be. A recent visitor from Te Aroha to the Hamilton Hospital, complains that the road to that institution is in a deplorable state, and that a ride thereto in an ambulance is anything but pleasant. • .-Ji The members of the Te Aroha Gymnasium made a very favourable impression by their exhibitions at the Band of Hope meeting on Tuesday evening. The new sashes, the gift of Mr Gahagan, of the “ Economic ” gave the uniforms a finished appearance. The ability to save, means the opportunity of taking advantage of life chances. To do this you must start right, and you can’t do better than make your purchases at Johnson’s stores.— Advt,
We understand that an endeavour is being made to form a branch of the the Ancient Order, of Druids at the Thames, and that already a goodly number of residents have alfeady handed in their names as members. The mine manager of the Rising Sun Gold Mining Company, reports for the week ending June 13, as follows:—In the No. 2 winze the drive south on the footwall reef, at the 60 feet level has been advanced a distance of 6 feet 6 inches. PoundkeeperJudgment from the lengthy petition received from Matamata, it looks as
if the major portion of the settlers favour the system of rating on unimproved values. They have no time for the man who hangs on to his property year after year, leaving it in its virgin state, for the purpose of making money out of his neighbours’ thriftyness. Doubtless many farmers and gar* deners, who are lovers of Messrs Nimmo
and Blair’s famous seeds, will be pleased to learn that Messrs Wigg and Co. are the sole agents for Te Aroha and districts. The latest catalogues, etc., to hand, which are in themselves a work of art, go to show that this firm are in the front rank as seed merchants. It may interest local farmers to learn
that a Wairarapa authority is of opinion that dairy cows will fetch top prices next spring. Several dealers and farmers who have well grassed paddocks are quietly buying them up. The scarcity of dairy stock is partly owing to the fact that large numbers were sold during drought tune for boiling down, and the demand is likely to be intensified, because of the present excellent prospects of plenty of feed.
All sorts of pastes and liquids have been placed on the market, for polishing linoleum and furniture. Most of them rub in the dirt and polish on top. Tan-ol not only cleans the linoleum but polishes as well. Those who try Tan-ol once never use a paste again. Sold in bottles atall stores. Advt.
At the conclusion of the Band of Hope meeting in the Public Hall on Tuesday evening last, a number of boys were playing about the stage, when a lad named Willie Hamilton, was accidentally pushed off the platform, with the result that his left arm was broken. The lad was taken to Dr. Axford, who set the injured limb.

A clean well-polished linoleum always --looks nice. You cannot keep it as it should be kept if you use pastes, because they don’t clean the linoleum, but polish in the dirt.
