TE AROHA v. MORRINSVILLE.

The above clubs met in the Te Aroha Bridge Domain yesterday afternoon and a most exciting game was played. Te Aroha won the toss and decided to defend the Northern goal. For the first fifteen minutes the play was very even, but Te Aroha gradually got the ball to their 25 line, and kept it there for some time. When the half time was called, neither sides had scored. In the second spell Morrinsville played up well and came near scoring, but by a clever hit from one of the home team, the ball was again sent near the Te Aroha’s 25 line. A good deal of very clever play was witnessed, till Miss Hare sent the ball between the posts, and Te Aroha scored the first try. Soon after this the whistle sounded for the finish, with the result Te Aroha 1, Morrinsville nil. Both sides played a good friendly game. Mr Parkes who acted as referee gave every satisfaction. At the conclusion of the game, the teams were entertained at afternoon tea by the members and vice-presidents of the Home Club.
