. 'firaon v, tb aeoha. WIN FOE W4IHOTJ. These two teams met for the first time this season on, Saturday afternoon last Both Clubs put in their best teams, and a good game resulted. The weather was all that 7 .could be desired. The game was played on the local green, which was in fair order. Mr Mays acted as . referee.- . - V- •• The first spell resulted in neither side .scoring, 'in the second spell Waihou twice crossed the line. From one Of the many forward rushes made by 'Waihou, A. Lennard smartly picked up and grounded the ball right between the posts. M. Timmins took the kick and added the major - if Joints. The second try was secured by .J. Timmins, but the angle being a difficult one, no goal resulted. The visiting team appeared to have much the best of the game. Tbs local men- tired as the game went on, apparently a lack of training.
The Waihou schoolboys defeated Te .Arbhaon the former’s,ground by 9 points tb nil, Tries were scored by Kewish (2) and Timmins (1). Mr.Binstead acted as referee! ■■'.m The Matamata-Morrinsville match resuited in a win for Matamata by 3 points to. nil. Tho junior match, Waihou v Te Aroha, resulted in a win for Te Aioha. ■ /*--#, • ——— r
