Morrinsville S.M. Court

(Before E. O, Cullen, Esq , S.M.) The first sitting of the above Court was held at Morrinsville on Tuesday last, May sth, when the following cases were dealt with : J. S: Small, truant officer, brought a number of charges against parents and guardians for failing to send their children to school. Truant Officer v F. C. Hills, fined 12s and costs 15s; fined 10s and 15s costs on another; also 8s and 15s on a further charge. Same v William Collins. Fined 8s and costs 15s and two other cases for which he was fined 8s and 10s and costs 30s. Same v Bichard Smith. Two charges. Fined 10s on each and costs £1 14s. Same v Frederick H. White. Two charges. Fined 8s on each and costs £1 14s, G. W. Bogere (Mr Allen) v Buakau, Claim 12s 8d for goods supplied. Judgment by default for amount claimed and costs £1 15s. Gummer (Mr Allen) v Mahood. Claim £IBO 5s s£d fcr goods supplied, £IOO having been paid into Court. Judgment by default for balance and costs £B. Gummer (Mr Allen) v Shaw. Claim £6 5s 3d for goods supplied. Judgment by default for amount claimed and costs £1 10s 6d. McPherson (Mr Allen) v Asake. Claim £i 5s 6d for goods supplied, £1 5s paid into Court. Judgment by default for balance and costs £1 16s. Parlour and Co. (Mr Alien)vTuirell. Claim £ll Is lid for goods supplied. Judgment by default for amount claimed and costs £3 0s 6d. Davenport (Mr Allen) v Petchell, Claim £1 15s 61 for goods supplied. Judgment for full amount and costs £1 3s. McPherson v Hills. This was a claim for £2OO for burning of property. Mr Allen appeared for plaintiff and Mr Gillies for defendant. The case occupied the Court until 11.30 p.m., a large number of witnesses being called on both sides. Judgment was reserved until next Court day.
