MORRINSVILLE
(Own Correspondent.) FOOTBALL MATCH The football match, Hamilton City v. Morrinsville was played here on Saturday. After considerable delay, Morrinsville took the field several men shorn, the full compliments being made up at various stages of the game. The local forwards went away with a rush and scored soon after the start, City then i pened the game up and succeeded in winning by 18 points to 3, being four trie?, one converted, and a goal from the field. Mr Mayes controlled the game in a most efficient manner. It behoves plavers to roll up a good deal better oa Saturday next, otherwise the Club will be forced to drop out of the Union for this season. ( ACCIDENT.. '
Mr E. Pretty, the well-known axeman, met with an accident the other evening through the saddle slipping, causing him to fall heavily, badly bruising the bone of bis leg near the hip, which is most unfortunate for him, as his wife is at present an inmate of the Waikato Hospital. Mr Pretty is under Dr. Seville’s care, and all wish him a speedy recovery. OUR TOWN BOARD. The Town Board has made satisfactory arrangements with the Bank of New Zealand, in connection with the unformed roads, so no doubt the work will soon be put in hand. HOCKEY SOCIAL. The Secretary has the arrangements well in hand for the Hockey Social. Given favourable weather, a most successful evening should result. SHOOTING SEASON. Most of the local sportsman appear to have had plenty of exercise on the first, but very little game.
