THE GILCHRIST BUCKLES
Probably the last club match of th season was played on the local green on Saturday afternoon last, when an interesting pairs’ contest was witnessed for the possession of the Gilchrist buckles. The game resulted in a win for the challengers, McKee and McGirr (skip), who defeated the holders, ' Spooner, and Dalton (skip), by 22 to 18. 1 The championship matches have been abandoned till next season.
A.P.B.A. “CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS.”
The Tournament Committee of the Auckland Provincial Bowling Association met on Saturday evening, and decided that the “ champion; of champions" match should take place on Saturday, May g, plajr to start at 9 a.m., on the Rocky Nook green. The champion ef any club not being present ten minutes after 9 o’clock the game will go by default. The following is the draw: First round: Auckland plays Otahuhu. Second round: Te Aroha plays Mount Albert, Thames plays Rocky Nook, Onehunga plays Grey Lynn, Whangarei plays Carlton, Epsom plays Devonport, Rotorua plays Cambridge, Richmond plays Mount Eden*
