Waihou Athletic Sports.

The Waihou Athletic Club Sports were held on Easter Monday. The day was fine, and there was a very large attendance of the public. Among those present, were Mr W. H. Herries, M.P., and Mr J. A. Young. Hamilton. The Hamilton Band supplied isplendid music, and everyone worked hard to make the gathering a success. The (following were the results of the races:— Boys’ Race.—,A. Moon, 1; G. N. Barlow, 2. Piako Rugby Union Handioap. —H. Lennard, 1; F. Shine, 2. Forced Handicap.—H. Lennard, 1; W. Darby, 2. The running events brought out good results, and were very keenly contested. The . wrestling in both classes was particularly interesting. Mr W. R. Johnston had charge of the pistol duties, which were very satisfactorily discharged, as were also those of the judges, Messrs W. A. Taylor and W. F. Ross, Mr R. Pair as call steward and Messrrs D. Boirie and A. Swney as marksmen and the rest of the committee. ;

A social was held in the hall in the evening and was well attended.
