Football Meeting.
A meeting of the Te Aroha footballers was held in Mr Pilling’s sample room, the other evening. There was a very good attendance. Mr Glynn Lewis occupied the chair. After a short discussion on matters affecting the Club, the electidn of officers for the ensuing year took place, and resulted as follows: Patron, W. H. Herries, Esq., M.P.; president, R. L. Somers, Esq.; treasurer, Mr Leo. Shaw; secretary, Mr H. Whitehead; senior selector, Mr Leo. Shaw. The captain will be elected after the first match. The treasurer handed in a balance - sheet, which showed a credit balance of £i 6s 6d.
Messrs Lewis, Warner, and Cribb were appointed delegates to the Piako Rugby Union. Entrance fee far members was fixed at 2/6. Judging from the amount of enthusiasm evinced there is every indication that football in Te Aroha this season will meet with a good deal of support, both from players and the public generally.
