Te Aroha Bridge Domain Board.

:V ■’; ••/ i v:v ■ \ . . • ' : f - .■ •; ■; ?>>■: • • The. first meeting of the above Board took place at the dose of the Borough Council meeting on" Wednesday evening last. There were present: Messrs E. L. Somers (chairman), A. Annan, E. Devey, H. Jackson, and G. Spence. Mr Wild was appointed secretary. The Chairman said he was very pleased to say that Te Aroha had at i last secured a recreation reserve of their own, and, he had no doubt in years to come it would be one of the beautyi spots of the district; He mentioned that children could not play about in the Sanitorium grounds as they once could, and they had really nowhere to go. The Domain across the river was really too far away to be of much use, and ‘sooner or later a recreation ground would have to be nearer at hand. Other members of the Board were of the same opinion. For the present it was decided to call tenders for leasing the reserve for grazing purposes. This was agreed to on the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr Annan. It was resolved that the fence be put in repair, and that the grazing rights be from May 6th, 1908, to March 3lst, 1909.
