Wedding

HILL-MACE A wedding of local interest was solemnised at S. Mark’s Church yesterday (Easter Monday) morning, the contracting parties bring Mr F. 8. Hill, fourth son of Mr Thos. Hill, of Hamilton, and Miss Emily Mace, youngest daughter of Mrs Mace, of Mangaiti, The Rev. E. M. Cowie, vicar, conducted the marriage ceremony. The bride looked very neat, and wore a fawn tailor-made travelling costume, with hat to match. Miss Amy Hill (bridesmaid), sister of the bridegroom, was attired in a pretty navy blue silk figured amazon doth costume, with cream hat. The bride carried a prayer book, and the bridesmaids, pretty bouquets. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr Chas. Mace. The best man was Mr Alf. Hill, brother of the bridegroom. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a silver-backed brush and comb, and to the bridesmaid, a band ring, The Rev Cowie presented the bride with a prayer book. After the ceremony the happy couple drove to Waihou, and caught the train for Rotorua, where the honeymoon will be spent. The presents were both beautiful and valuable.
