FOOTBALL

The Paeroa Rugby, Union held its annual meeting oil Tuesday evening. There was a good attendance, and, Mr W. Niccol presided. After the annual report was read and adopted, the election of officers was proceeded with. Mr H. Poland, M.P m : was reelected patron, and Mr T. A. Moresby was re-elected president. The election of vice-presidents and secretary and treasurer was left in the hands of the incoming committee. For the five vacancies on the committee there were eight nominations, and Messrs McCloughen, Mettam, Bush, Quick, and Sherson were elected.

Mr Foster presented to the unton the cup donated by the CampbellEhrenfried Company (through Mr J. H. Moore) for competition by the clubs playing under the union. It was decided to Write and thank the Campbell-Ehrenfried Company for the cup, and Mr J. A. Moore tor| his efforts in obtaining it. , : A vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing'officers, ahef the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair.

At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr H. R. Bush was elected chairman, and Mr C. S. Foster was elected treasurer. It was decided to meet every Wednesday evening, the first meeting to be held on Wednesday, 15th inst.
