NAPIER, This Day.
Advice has been received that the schooner Stanley has been successfully floated off the Orewa beach and is being towed to Auckland, apparently undamaged. FIELDING, This Day. A married woman, Billett was found dead at Nikau, with her head in a tub of water. It is not known how the affair happened. • CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Heavy rain fell all night and it is still raining. The fall is general over North and mid Canterbury. Farmers feel reassured as to the season.
