New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company report. —Horses : On Friday at the Durham Yards horses were brought forward jn average numbers, anything of a good stamp being in demand, Heavy draughts sold from £32 to £4B 10s ; medium do., £2O 5s to £3O ; hacks and light harness horses, £lO 5s to £lB 10s ; spring-cart, £l3 10s. On Tuesday we held a clearing sale of live and dead stock on account of Mr James Braithwaite. There was a good attendance and satisfactory prices ruled. Ewes in lamb sold at £1 3s 3d ; calves to yearling steers, 19s to £1 15s ; springers, £5 5s ; brown gelding, £25 15s ; bay mare, £26 os; yearling Ally, £9. At Pukekohe on Wednesday there was a good muster of stock of all descriptions, notwithstanding that we had held a special sale of dairy stock on the previous Monday. Dairy cows were yarded in full numbers, and sold at from £3 10s to £7 6s ; do., heifers £3 5s to £6 2s 6d ; empty cows, £1 15s to £2 19s; calves, 18s to £1 11s ; grown steers £4 12s 6d to £5 12s 6d. Beef sold at fully Newmarket rates. At Waiuku on Saturday there was a large yarding of dairy stock and an average one of Btores. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £6 15s; do., heifers, £2 15s to £6 5s ; empty cows, £1 17s 6s to £3 2s 6d ; calves, 18s to £1 7s. Beef sold at Newmarket rates. Cattle : There was an average muster of stock of all descriptions at Newmarket on Tuesday, which sold at late rates. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £7 12s 6d, heifers, £2 15s to £5 17s 6d ; empty cows, £1 17s 6d to £3 lls ; calves, 15s to £1 Bs. Beef was yarded in average numbers. Oxen sold at from £7 10s to £l2 ; cows, £4 5s to £8 17s 6d. A truck of steers from Mr E. Allen averaged £ll 16s 9d, and a truck of cows from Tirau averaged £8 14s 6d. Bheep were yarded in average numbers at the Newmarkat yards on Tuesday and sold at late rates. Wethers brought from 18s 6d to £1 10s ; ewes, £1 to £1 4s 6d ; hoggets, 10s 6d to 19s 6d. *>
Pigs are scarce and are wanted. Porkers brought from £1 Is to £2 7s : weaners, 7s 6d to 14s ; baconers, £1 JBs to £3. Bones, £4 15s. Oats : Market firm at 3s sd. Maize : Shipments are agßin light this week, selling at 3s 7d and 3s 8d ex store. Chaff is slow of sale from £5 2s 6d to £5 ss.j Fowl wheat moves off slowly at 4s Bd. Potatoes are in good demand at £5. Butter : Prime separator is coming forward in only small quantities, finding a ready sale at 9d ; medium qualities, Bd. Fungus, sjd per lb. Kauri gum : All grades of whites are moving off freely at late rates. Blacks are easier. No. 1,170 s ; No. 2,45 s ; superior, 8.N., 40s ; 8.5., 365.
