Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report. — Horses : At the Hayraarket on Friday last young active draughts were wanted, but were not yarded. Waggon and express sorts sold at from £24 os to £3l ; buggy horses, and good hacks, £l4 10s to £25 ; light harness and ordinary hackß, £8 to £l7 ; good ponies, £7 5s to £l6; aged and worn draughts, £ls to £2O 10s; spring-trap horse and harness, £2O 10s ; rubber-tired dogcart, £62 : pair of cobs, £25 ; double harness, £l4 ; rubbertired gig, £27 ; black mare, £23 ; single harness, £7. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows sold from £4 to £8 10s ; no stores yarded. Fat and young calves were in keen demand from 33 to £2 17s Gd, according to weight and quality; 66 sold. There was an average yarding of fat cattle of choice quality, which met with ready sale throughout at recent values. Steers ranged in price from £6 10s to £ll 7s 6d ; cows, £3 10s to £7 ; 307 sold. The sheep pens were well filled with a good class of mutton, which sold freely throughout, best wethers selling from 28s to 32s ; lighter weights, 18s 6d to 255. Best ewes, 21s to 24s 9d; others, 18s to 20s ; hoggets, 12s 9dto 23s 9d; 1450 sold. Pigs, scarce, brought extreme values. Porkers, £1 Is to £1 18s; baconers, to £3 14s ; no small yarded ; 22 sold.
