Sockburn Abattoirs.

BUTCHERS CONFIRM PRESS REPORTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. At a meeting of the representative master butchers, field on Tuesday night, the following motion was carried unanimously: “After thoroughly considering the articles in the Press and tlio report of the chairman of the Abattoirs Committee, this meeting r’esolves that, to our knowledge, all the statements made by the Press are unexaggerated, and that the abattoirs would not have been in the state as described had the recommendations from the Canterbury Master Butchers’ Union and the manager of the abattoirs been carried out by the Abattoirs Committee. The master butchers are further prepared to meet the members of tbe City Council and prove tbe facts which are within their knowledge.”
