HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The House this afternoon was mostly devoted to answering questions and debating replies. Mr Barclay moved that the present system of answering questions is unsatisfactory, and the old plan be resorted, to. This discussion was interrupted at 5 30 p.m. The House resumed at 7.80. The following bills were read a second time;—Quackery Prevention (Hornsby) ; Public and Bank Holidays (Major); Furriers (Major) ; Lamps on Vehicles (Major). The Noxious Weeds Bill was committed and progress reported at clause one. The Pure Foods Bill was further considered in committee and an amendment made and progress reported.
