Kia Ora Enquiry.
(By Telegraph/—-Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day-
The principal incident at the Kia Ora enquiry was the recalling of De Wolfe who denied all accusations of drunkenness or that he had obtained bottles of whisky in the saloon. There was - nothing to justify the description of the Kia Ora as a drunken ship. He had no row with Cavanagh, only knew of one dog in the boat. The women were screaming to him to save it and he did. As he was leaving the box, witness added, “ there is one thing I would like to say, and that is about dogs, I feel proud I saved them, for I think their lives more honourable and more trustful, and it might be more useful in future than some of the lives I did save.”
