ODDFELLOWSHIP.
At the installation of Bro. E. Pairry as N.G. of Loyal Jubilee Lodge, Pa'eroa, the installing officer was Doluty Provincial Grand Master, Bro. A Shaw. After the installation several toasts wore proposed, and honored. “The Auckland District” was proposed by P.G. Bro. W. Hubbard, and re- ‘ spondee! to by Deputy Provincial. Grand Master, , Bro. F. Shaw. In re-j spending to this toast, Bro. Shaw in- J stanood the strides that Oddfellowship had taken during the past few years, and this year’s working he had every reason to believe would stand out .prominently in the* annals of Ocldfeillowship in the Auckland district*. The membership* of the lodges had been, steadily increasing. Once a, i pension joined the Order he Was firstly backed up* by tire lodge lie* joined, then [the Auckland district, which had capi-, * tal funds exceeding £75,000, then tho ' New Zealand branch, und lastly the Manchester Unity, with accumulated funds amounting to £13,000,000. The I surplus capital of the various* lodges at j the last, valuation amounted to over! ono million pounds. By tile last annual I return it was shown that the district I paid in sick benefits* nearly £4000; j in funeral claims, £800; and 1 nearly £3o*oo was paid for medical attendance and 1 medicine for the year. He was pleased to* see tire enthusiasm shown 'by members of the Loyal Jubilee Lodge in the working of the lodge and in the management.
