Duty on Boots.
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This DayA meeting of bootmakers and sellers 1 of colonial and imported boots, passed a resolution against the increase in duty on imported boots and shoes. It was stated that orders locally could not be coped with, as it was because sufficient hands were unobtainable. One speaker said a company had been established in Christchurch with £350,000 capital to buy up small fao<* tones and raise prices.
