MORRINSVILLE.

[Our own Correspondent.] Thirty ratepayers attended at the meeting called for last evening to nominate a candidate for the County Council at the coming election, and Mr Manuel was chosen. Messrs Ganley and Heath were appointed to sign the nomination paper, and a committee was elected consisting of the following gentlemen : Messrs Clifford, Marshall, Leeson, S. Allen, W. Howie, Heath and Dixon to forward Mr Manuel’s candidature, A committee was also set up to consider the advancement of Morrinsville, Messrs Allen,; Clifford, Pickett, Marshall, Gummer, Manuel and Spargo being elected. Mr S. Allen was appointed secretary. A vote of thanks to the chairman (Mr W. C. Pickett) concluded the meeting.
