New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., report.—Horses : On Friday at the Durham Yards we had a moderate yarding, with good competition for young draughts, which sold at from £24 10s to £39 15s ; hacks and light harness horses, £lO 5s to £2O 15s ; weeds, £2 15s to £4 ss; springeart, £l2 10s ; tax-cart, £9 10s. At Tuakau on Wednesday there was a small muster, which sold at late rates. At Panmure On Saturday we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr James Gollan. There was a large attendance and very satisfactory prices ruled Cows in milk sold at from £4 10s to £8 15s; springing do., £3 15s to £8 10s; trap horses, £lO 10s to lfs 15s; spring-cart, £8 10s; Daisy cart, £ll 10s. Catlls : At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday there was a full yarding of all descriptions. Dairy cows sold at from £4 5s to £9 10s ; empty cows, £1 17s to £3 ss; calves. 15s to £1 Bs. Fat cattle were yarded in full numbers, and coinpe tition was steady at last week’s rates, oxen selling to 22s per 1001 b and cows at 17s to 19s per 1001 b. Steers sold at from £7 5s to £ll 15s ; cows, £3 Igs to £8 2s 6d. ’ Sheep : The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday with sheep of all descriptions, which sold under good com petition. Wethers sold at from 18s 9d to £1 5s 9d; ewes, 16s 6d to £1 2s 6d ; hoggets, 8s 9d to 14s 9d. Pigs ; Porkers sold at from }Bs 6d to £1 10s; bav;ohers £l 12s 6d to £2 18s; weaners, 7s 6d to 13s 9d. Sheepskins : Market firm. Best butchers’ skins, large up to 6s, medium 5s to 5s 6d, small 4s to 4s Gd, Bones, £4 15s. Oats ; Stocks have been replenished again from the South, but the market remains firm at 3s 4d ex store. Chaff: Owing to two Australian the comprised o dder market is easier.
