SCHOOL CHILDREN’S TEETH.
The vexed question of the decay of children’s teeth, which has been agitating educational mindis not only in New Zealand, is being grappled with at OBDorne. Only quite recently a lady inspector was sent round to the different council schools in London, the object being to examine the teeth of the children and ascertain how many were in the habit of cleaning them. She found that the great majoritv had never been acquainted withi the use of a tooth-brush, and that serious defects
were the result. Equipped with a tooth-brush she gave practical lessons to the children in the art of teethdeaning, impressing on them the necessity of making this a regular practice. No doubt the novel experiment will lead to much good 1 , and prove very beneficial to the children.
