Tennis.
The return match Walton v. To XJruwliao, took place on tlie latter’s court on Wednesday sth June, in the presence of a large number of spectators. The weather being line all players wore in exuberant spirits. The play commenced at 11 a.m. and continued throughout the day, concluding about 430 p.m.. The catering was attended to by the ladies. Messrs Y. Hanna and P. Mason capably acting as referees. A very exciting set was played between Messrs Thos, Hanna and It. Yarrow v. Gr, and 13. Mason in a gentleman’s double and to use a sporting phrase “ it was a tight go,'’ the former winning only by one game. The following is tho table of scores :

Peat referred in flattering terms to the cordial manner in which they were received by the Te Uruwhao members, and thanked the ladies for their kind attention. Mr Thos. Hanna manager of the local club, responded, and thanked Mr Peat for his kind remarks, also referred of the evenness of the games and the spirited manner in which they were contested.
