Messrs Alfred Buokland and sons report : Horses : At the Haymarket on Friday last we had an exceptionally large yarding, principally of the heavy class, which were keenly competed for. Active, young heavy draughts realised from £42 1 0s to £66 ; aged draughts £2B 10s to £44 ; medium draughts, to £33 10s; buggy horses and good hacks, £l6 5s to £26 ; light harrees and ordinary hacks, £7 10s to £l9 15s ; weeds and gig class at all prices ; pair of Shetland ponies, £3O. Eight draughts from Taranaki averaged £4l 12s 6d each. At the clearance sale held on account of Mrs Rumbul at Waipipi on Friday there was a large attendance and very satisfactory prices obtained. The milking- cows made from £5 15s to £9; heifers, £3 10s to £5 10s; calves. £1 Is to £1 5s ; chestnut gelding, £23 10s; bay mare, £ll. Implements, furniture, and sundries brought full values. . The Waiulru Yards on Saturday were moderately filled with stock. Those met with a slightly better sale than the previous month. Springers £3 to £5 ; empty cows, £1 15s to £2 15s ; fat cows, £3 10s to £5 ; three-year steers, £4 17s 6d ; yearlings tc IS-month steers, £' 15s to £2 13s ; strong calves, £1 Is to £1 Bs-; others. 10s to 17s ; small pigs, 7s 6d to 10s; potatoes, 13s hag. Stock of all classes were well represented a Remuera on Thursday and met with a ready sale throughout. Dairy cows sold from £4 5s to £8 according to age and quality ; ston cows, £2 to £3 10s ; no steers yarded, Ea' and young calves, in full supply, -were required at from 2s to 375; 106 sold. Thi beef pens were filled, 390 being penned, i large number being cows. Prices were firn throughout at recent quotations, ox beef beini slightly hotter. Stesrs ranged in price frorr £6 10s to £ll 5s ; cows, £3 10s to £6 15s Sheep penned in full numbers, sold freely Best wethers were from 21s to 23s 3d, lighte weights to 20s, heavy ewes to 2ls 9d, other 16s to ISs ; best lambs to 17s, lighter sort 12s Gd to 15s ; store lambs, 7s to 10s 3d ewes iq lamb, £1 Is 6d. The advertised stor wethers were mostly fat and sold from 20s t 22s ; 2,510 of all classes sold. Pigs, in fai numbers, sold well ; porkers to 355, baconex to £2 11s, weaners-to 12s, small 7s to 10s; 5 sold. Roosters, 2s Id each, Hides, skins, tallow, etc. : Hides—Ox, 5 to 8d : cow, 4|d to sld; kip, 4d to sld calf, 6d to 6.]d ; stags’, 3fit to 3fd ; horst 9s 3d ; damaged hides, 3|d to s ld ; tallov 27s*6d ; bones, 4s 9d to ss. Skins—Be; butchers’, 4s 4d to 5s 3d ; medium 3s 2d 1 4s ; small, Is 3d to 2s lid.
