Farewell to Mr and Mrs Warren.
PRESENTATIONS AT WAITOA. A farewell social was tendered toMr and - Mrs M. R. Warren in the Waitoa schoolroom on Fiiday night prior to their leaving the district. There was a good attendance of settlers and friends, the schoolroom being packed. Mr S. Bellamy acted as chairman. The evening was devoted fo songs, musical items and speeches, etc. Mr Warren was presented with a gold watch by the set! levs of Waitoa, and Mrs Warren received a gold brooch. The speakers, Messrs Bellamy, Walker, McLean McGloin. O’Driscolland Yoysey. referred fo the departure of Mr and Mrs Warren in feeling terms, and said the district was losing a good settler, and they a staunch friend. The t ition was made by Mr S. Bcilamid®*-* neat speech Songs were sung by Messrs Williams and Voysey ; gramaphone selections were given by Mr J. Marshall. Music was supplied for the dances by Messrs Buchan, Williams and Mackie, and Mrs Timmins danced an Irish jig. i A first class supper was provided by the ladies of Waitoa, and the gathering 1 broke up shortly after two o’clock.
