AUCKLAND, This DayIt is expected that 30 000 acres near Opotiki and the famous Waimaua block of 5000 acres near Whakatane, also church mission block near To Awamntu will shortly bo opened up for settlement by the Land Purchase Board. The Auckland district survevor has been examining several blocks north of Auckland. Mr Massey called the attention of the Minister for Customs to the Australian chaff being imported as fodder and paying less duty than was payable on chaff. He received a reply that the last shipment at Greymouth and Kaipara were found not to be fodder but chaff, and had been held in boud, pending payment of extra duty.
