MORRINSVILLE.
(Our Own Coi respondent.) The weather during the latter part of last week was very unsettled here. There was a fair entry of stock at the sale in the local yards, and bidding was somewhat slack, though the reverse was the case when the material from the old saleyards came to be offered, it all going off readily at market rates. The Waihou Tennis Club came over on Saturday and played a match against the local club. The weather was very wintry, which, however, did not prevent a very enjoyable afternoon being spent. The ladies, with their usual kindness, provided afternoon tea. Mr Rice (Waihou) looked after the score sheet, and members of the Morrinsville Club watched the lines. The match resulted in a somewhat easy win for Morrinsville, though a number of the games were much closer than the scores show. The following are the scores :—Messrs Allen and Hogg (M) beat Torrens and Grainger (W), 6—o ; Mrs Seville and Miss Manuel (M) beat Misses Taylor (W), 6 -1; Messrs Lowry and Campbell (M) beat Lamey and Taylor (W), 6 —0; Mrs Seville and Mr Allen (M) beat Miss Taylor and Mr Torrens (W). 6—4; Miss Manuel and Hogg (M) beat Miss A. Taylor and Mr Grainger (W), 6—o; Miss Abbey and Mr Larney (W) beat Miss Allen and Mr Sowry (M), 6 —3; Mr Hogg (M) beat Mr Torrens (W), 6—2; Mrs Seville (M) beat Miss Taylor (W), 6—3; total, Morrins--ville 45 ; Waihou 16,
