Social in the Band-room.
Quite an enjoyable little social was given in the baudrooin on Wednesday evening, promoted by the visitors and boarders at Railway Boarding-house, Exhilarating dance music was supplied by the Te Aroha Trio in their most pleasing style, whilst the intervals between the dances were en* livened by songs contributed by Mrs Scott, Miss Pooley, and Messrs G. Cornish and Golden. . Mr' Wildermott also assisted in dispelling any chance of a dull moment, with a number of choice gramophone selections. A most amusing feature was the impersonation of an automatic dancing doll by Mr Binney, whose grotesque antics caused no end of fun. Mr Binney was also well selected for the office of M.C., which he creditably filled. A first-class supper, liberally provided by Mr Faes, proved highly acceptable to the dancers, and was freely patronised. The friendly gathering broke up at midnight with the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne.”
