A CHILDREN’S LIBRARY.
Aft the. Newtown (Wellington) branch of the Public Library there is a juvenile department whilob is largely- patronised 1 . Large numbers of children congregate there to read and improve their minds and the institution- has more than justified the hope of its originators. Boys arid girls are allowed, or rather, encouraged, to frequent the library. There is a room set apart, for (■■heir special usa In it are stored hundreds of books covering a very wide range of literature for the young. During the last month or two nearly three 1 mndred volumes have been added to (he collection. There are more good books for the children of the neighbourhood than they could well get through in f the next few years.
