New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s Ltd. report. —Horses: On Friday at the Durham Yards, horses were yarded in full numbers, and although competition was scarcely as brisk as on the previous Friday, a good many changed hands. We quote : Heavy draughts, at from £32 os to £42; medium do., £24 10s to £36; hacks and light harness horses, £6 15s to £18; weeds, £3 10s to £7 10s; spring cart, £l2; waggon, £lB Un Thursday we held our second sheep fair of the season at tne Otahuhu Yards, when we yarded 8460 sheep and rams. The sheep were a good lot, although the bulk of them were from fresh to fullmouthed. 'Ewes sold at from 11s 9d to 17s 9d; wethers, 12s 6d to 19s; lambs',. 8s 9d to 12s. Earns Linco ns, li guineas to 5 guineas; Shropshires, 1 guinea to o guineas ; Eomneys, 2J guineas to 5 guineas ; English Leicesters, 2 guineas to 3 guineas; Border Leicesters 2 guineas to 3£ guineas. On Saturday, at Waiuku, we had an average muster of stock for the season of year, which sold at late rates. Dairy cows sold at from £3 7s 6d to £6 1 Os; empty do., £1 17s 6dto£3 1s; calves, 15s to £ l 68. No grown steers were yarded. Beef sold at Newmarket rates On Tuesday, at the Newmarket yards, dairy andstore stock were yarded in average numbers. Beef was yarded in full supply and bidding was firm at last week’s rates, oxen selling to 22s per 1001 b, cow 12s to 20s. Steers sold at from £6 5s to £lO 2s 6d and cows £3 10s to £6' Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £7; empty cows, £1 15s to £2 ISs; calves, 15s to £1 6s. Sheep were yarded in scarcely auerage numbers at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday and showed an upward tendency. Wethers sold at from 16s 9i to £1 3s; ewes, 15s 3d to £1 : lambs, 10s 6d to 19s 6d. The store shorn lambs sold at from 6s 6d to 12s. Pigs: Scarce. Porkers, £1 Is to £1 18s ; weaners, 10s 6d to 15s. Maize: Firm at 3s 4d on wharf for wholesale lines. Oats: In good demand at 3s 2d ex St Wheat: In good demand at 3s Bid ex store. Chaff: Australian, £6 to £6 os c.i.f.; local, £5 5s ex store. Butter: Dairy separator, Sfd to 9d J milling quality, 7Jd to Bd. Cheese: In good demand at 6£d ex store. Fungus, 5d per lb.
