SUPPLY REDUCED, A later message regarding the washing away of over 100 feet of the bridge carrying the Wellington main water supply over the Hutt River, states that it is roughly estimated that the repairs to water main and bridge will take some weeks, meanwhile the city will have to rely on the Karori reservoir, which has a storage capacity of 56,000,000 gallons.
