MORRINSVILLE.
(Our Own Coirespondent.) An event, which caused some interest to the ladies, took place here on Tuesday, when Mr H. Walker and Mis May Hor. rell were joined together in holy bonds of matrimony at St. Mathews Church. The Rev. E. M. Cowie officiated. The church was prettily decorated and a very realistic marriage bell, composed of ivy and flowers was huhg over the altar. The bride looked extremely well and was attended by Miss Orr as bridesmaid. Mr Nelson gave the bride away. Mr Hamilton assisted the groom as best man. After the ceremony the party wa s driven to Te Mimi where the wedding breakfast was partaken of, after which the happy couple departed by express en route for Auckland, where part of the honeymoon is to be spent. The weather continues very mild, which has the effect of an abundance of feed for stock, as well as keeping up the supply of vegetables. It is my sad duty to record the death of Mrs W. H. Allen, wife of Mr W. H. Allen, who was until recently, a Lockerbie settler, but has been residing at Tirau since disposing of his farm here, some five or six months ago. Deceased lady, who has been ailing for some time, passed away on Monday last, leaving a sorrowing husband and three young children. Much sympathy is felt for the family in their great loss The funeral took place here at 12 30 on Wednesday, and the attendance showed the sympathy and respect felt for the bereaved ones, Mr Richards, Home Missionary read the burial service in an impressive manner.
