The ’Frisco Mail.
SUPERSEDED BY SUEZ. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Owing to the oontinued raent of the San Francisco pail-service, the Acting Postmasser-Greneral has directed that no mails for Great Britain shall be sent or received by that route for the present. The Sue? route is to be used until further netice. unless specially arood opportunities shall arise for sending the mail by the direct or Vancouver routes. Subsidised connecting steamers to Sydney will leave Wellington on the Bth, and fortnightly thereafter. Mr Sproul, New Zealand engineer fori the Oceanic Steamship Company, states that tha Sierra and Yentura are to be laid up in’Frisco for overhaul for nr<\'ably three months. It .is anticipated that when this is completed the boat* will be able to maintain the regular time table. The United Btates service will then be reverted to Tb*- time to London Will then be shortened by the quick passages of the new O' nard rs which will be running in a few weeks
