V.--(From our own Correspondent.) .A public meeting of farme’S in the Pijko District w»s held on Saturday Jvening, October 28th, in the Phoenix lall, Morrinsville, to receive supple* nent .vy report of the Execuvite Comnrtue of the Morrinsville Piako farmers’ Saleyards Combine. Amongst hose present were Messrs Thos. Hinon; chairman of Executive Committep, /. White, Cbas. Mauuel, Peter Chapnan, Thos. White, S, Snell, H. and J, Clifford, F. J. Marshall, Dr. Seville, tlecOrr, H. Walker. Mclnnis, Higtam. James Fleming, T Hewitt, J. bust, J. l’Urnbull, Spencer, Marshall, . McColl, Duxfield, Mannion, Frost, Ibwe, and others. The Minutes of Meeting of 11th )ciober yrere read by the Secretary nd confirmed. In accordat ce with resolution passed t the previous meeting, where the iriginial report was referred back to he Committee in order that an alteration may be. made in the selection ! proposed site for Saleyards. The bihmittee now recommended that the ifler received from Mr J. M. Clifford, if sec, 190, Suburbs of Morrinsville, i mtaining. five acres at £l5O, with flier of sf c. 189 on lease for a term as a holiday paddock), in terms of iis letter of 11th Oct. be accepted; nd that immediate steps be taken to ecure an option over the said lands or . the space of two months, and uggest that the. proposed subscribers hall at once decide upon a course of ctioh in regard to the creation of a ’rust, or formation of a Company, on the motion of the /hairman, seconded by Mr C, Manuel, hat the supplementary report he dopted. It was unanimously reeolved on the lotion of Mr C. Manuel, seconded by Ir J. M. Clifford,.that this meeting ppoint five trustees to make all ecessary arrangements for the pur base of Mr J. M. Clifford’s property, nd erect stock sale yards thei eon with ut further delay; also that the rus'ees, when elected, shall elect, and ' ire hereby empowered to appoint their iwn chairman and secretary, and to ollect- all contributions from subscribes and give receipt for the same; Iso to open a Trust Account with the jatik of New Zealand in the name of he •“ Morrimville Farmers’ Combine,” nd to make arrangement"' with an luetioueering fiim to hold monthly j-ck sales, and to do all other acts hat they may consider necessary to ijake the sales and saleyards success.tiU .That the trustee? call a meeting )f tlie “ Combine ” together at least once in 12 months and to furnish a
yaiiriy ; report. Resolved that any shareholder is eligible for election as trustee. There were 26 subscribers in the Hall, aggregating £570, and out of 14 gentlemen duly nominated the following five were, by ballot, elected as trustees to the “ Combine,” —viz : Messrs Thomas Hinton, Alec Orr. Frank J Marshall, James Bell, and Charles Manuel. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr J. M. Clifford, n hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the Secretary, Mr Frost, (Frost and Rowe), Land Agents. ’A vote of thanks, carried amid acclamation, was tendered to the Chairman, after which the meeting terminated.
