St. Mark’s Social
LARGE ATTENDANCE.
The last social of a very sucessful series iu connection with St. Mark’s Church, was held iu the Public Hall on Tuesday evening last. A large number of dancers assembled on the floor, which proved to be in best condition. The l usual card tables were provided on the platform, at which a number of non dancers passed a pleasant evening with euchre and other games. Musical contributions were tastefully rendered with the necessary light and shade by Mrs Robson, Mrs Wigg, Miss Anderson, and Miss Patterson, several excellent flute solos being given by Mr Patteison to the accompaniment of Miss Patterson. During the interval refreshments, always a feature of these socials, were handed round with careful attention, and thanks to the thoughtful ladies who supply them, were of the usual highly-appreciated variety, and much patrouised. Mr Pavitt, in the office of M.C., thanked all those present for their kind support and regular attendance at the socials throughout the season. Dancing went on with a swing until after eleven o’clock, and it can safely be said that all who were preseut spent a nnst delightful and inspiriting few hours.
