Next Friday will he observed as a special holiday at all banks in the colony, with the exception of those at Nelson, where the holiday will ho observed on Saturday. ] The attention of farmers and others [ is called to the announcement made by the Farmers’ Union in another column, Mr Auriol Barker is visiting the dis trict for the purpose of speying cattle, on the 24th inst., at the Waitoa yards, and Mr Dan Casey’s at Waihou, work, to commence at 8 o’clock. A large number of cattle have already been booked, and it is expected that mammore wilt be forthcoming. •
