NEW APPOINTMENT IN AUCKLAND PEOYINCE. Mr A. A. Thornton, Dairy Produce Grader, who has been in the Government service for eleven years, and has been in charge of the grading ports at Lyttelton and Dunedin, has been transferred to Auckland to take over the work which has been carried on by Mr E. Townshend. Mr Towns'* bond has recently resigned his position, to enter into the commercial side of the Dairy Industry. THt Dairy Commissioner, Mr Ivinsella, haa recently been making l investigations into the requirements of the Auckland port, and recognises the rapid growth of the industry in the Auckland Province This growth makes it necessary to station at that port a man with both experience and capacity for work where there are two stores that have to be managed.
