800 LIVES LOST. THOUSANDS RENDERED HOMELESS. lON TIRE VILLAGES DESTROYED. Rome, Sept. 8. A vi dent, earthquake, which occurred to-day, almost destroyed Pizzo, M u tirano and Monteleoae, causing t reat l-«ss of life. Twenty-seven pris- - nets in the gaol at Monteleone were injured. Alarming shocks were also experienced at Catanzaro,Messina and Reggio. Rome, Sept. 9. Three bunded deaths have been caused by the earthquakes. Entire villages have been destroyed. Two thousand two hundred persons were rendered homeless at Martirano. One hundred persons were killed at Stefanacou , 65 at San Gregorio, 60 at r l riparni, and 5o at Piscopio. The reports are still incomplete. Rome, Sept. 10.

The Earthquake death-roll is incre ming hourly. There are 30(1 dead at Parghali, 200 at Jopplo, 2000 dead and injured at Martirano. The terror stricken peasants refused to return home, sleeping in fields, railway stations and carriages. Further shocks were felt on Saturday, Rome, Yesterday. The Government is devoting £lO.000, to the earthquake sufferers. Kiiflfe Emmanuel has given £4OOC. feared that 2000 are killed. King Emmanuel and his Ministers have gone to Calabria.
