In the second innings the Australians realised 319, Darling 61, Noble 50, and Hill not out .56, were the chief scores. Tremliu and Douglas divided the bowling honors. Essex wanting 368 to win, and made 18 for the loss of no wickets when stumps were drawn for the day. In the second innings Australians have lost 3 wickets for 126; Howell 46, Noble not out 30, were the obief scorers.
