St. Mark’s Social

The social in connection with St. Mark’s Church was held in the Public Hall on Tuesday evening last, This was the fourth of the series, and has proved to be one of the most successful yet held. A large number of patrons were present, many having come in fn-m the country. The floor was as usual, in a splendid condition, which fact, coupled with a good musical programme’ went far towards adding to the enjoyment of the evening. Musical accompaniments were very kindly provided by Mrs Robson, Mrs Wigg, Mias Maingay, and Miss Pattei - son. Vocal solos given by Mr Mclndoe and Mr W, Maingay, were greatly appreciated, as also was a humorous recitation by Mr Burton. As on previous occasions the stage was utilised as a card room. During the interval refreshments were handed round by the gentlemen. Mr Walter Maingay was very attentive in the office of M. C. Much satisfaction was expressed on all sides at the most enjoyable eveuing spent. .
