Sir —Believing your columns are open to the ventilating of any grievances in connection with ths Borough, and also admitting the good work done to the footpaths of the main steets for which the Council are to be thanked. I would desire to driw attention to some of the crossings which might receive a little more attention to them than is granted. For instance where there is a really good asphalted crossing opposite the Grand Hotel which is rarely ever used. We have on the other hand a very discreflitable one at the intersection of Kenrick and Rewi St., near the Police station,-and, I do think that as this is so very largely used!by the Public on their way to the Court House and Post Office—some • thing better might be provided, as the danger is not a little on dark nights, as pedestrians are very liable to walk into the water-table. Trusting that something will be done before an accident occurs and thanking you in anticipation.—l am etc, Pedestrian.
