Te Aroha Railway Station
EXTRACT FROM SUPPLEMENTARY ORDER PAPER, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Mr Moss to ask the Minister for Railways, If there is any immediate prospect of Te Aroha Railway station being improved so as to make it available for invalids in wet weather '( (8 th August.) Reply.—The erection of a verandah at Te Aroha would involve a considerable expenditure, and the inquiries which have been made into the matter show that this would be entirely out of proportion to any advantages which might be derived therefrom. I recognise that in the course of a few years ii will be necessary for the present Te Aroha Station to give place to a bettor one, and do not in these circumstances consider it would be wise to spend considerable sums of money in making improvements to a structure which must sooner or later be entirely removed and replaced by an up-to-date building,
