31,000,000 FEWER COINS.
The twenty-fifth annual report of the Deputy-Master and Comptroller of the Mint, which was issued last month, shows that during 1904 there was again a considerable felling off in the total number of Imperial coins struck, the figures for the twelve months -howing a decrease of about 14,500,000 as compared with the preceding twelve months, and of no less than 31,000,000 as compared wiih 1902. The coinage of gold, however, was greater than in 1903, having am anted to over 21,750,000 pieces, a total which has only once been exceel 1 s'nee 1892.
