[by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] London, August 2. Coo Ulan, on being interviewed said it was without his knowledge that the new shipping laws of Germany were introduced into the Marshall Islands. It is impossible to say if they will give satisfaction to Australia. British ships must enjoy there the same rights as German ships enjoyed in British waters. Australian ship-owners required compensation for losses in the denial of treaty rights. The New South Wales Government are cancelling orders placed in Germany, and withholding further orders. The other States are acting similarity,all considering the advisability of united action
