[By Telegraph.—Press Association.] Blenheim, this day. Thb death is announced of Alexander Monro, of “Bank House” estate, Wairua Valley. He was a son of Sir Donald Monro, one of the earliest run holders in Marlborough and had connection with pastoral affairs in the province for many years.
DEATH OF ME J. L. TOLE. Auckland. ThisDiy The death is announced of Mr John Lambert Tole, surveyor, and brother of the Hon J. A. Tole. (The deceased gentleman was well known at Thames in the early days. He was Commissioner of Crown Lands and took a prominent part in thb administration of the various areas that were being opened up for settlement. He subsequently undertook important surveys and under his supervision several large blocks were surveyed at Thames. He held high ofilcei in the Masonic fraternity and was held in high esteem both locally an 1 in the various districts where he was known).
